The Ministry of iTaukei Affairs and the iTaukei Affairs Board officially welcomed Mr. Pita Tagicakirewa on Monday 20/12 as the Permanent Secretary for iTaukei Affairs and Chief Executive Officer for the iTaukei Affairs Board. The ceremony was preceded by a Christmas church service led by Reverend Josaia Masicola of the Wainivula Methodist Circuit and was held at the iTaukei Trust Fund Members lounge.
Mr. Tagicakirewa joined the civil service in 1993 and has worked in several Ministries. He joined the Ministry of Fijian Affairs (now iTaukei Affairs) in 2005 and served in various capacities reaching the position of Director, iTaukei Institute of Language & Culture. In 2013, he was appointed as Counsellor (Deputy Head of Mission) with the Fiji High Commission in Kuala Lumpur until December 2020. He returned to the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs as the Deputy Secretary in January 2021 and later confirmed as Permanent Secretary in December 2021. As Permanent Secretary he also holds the position of Chief Executive Officer, iTaukei Affairs Board.
Mr. Tagicakirewa holds a Masters in Governance from the University of the South Pacific and is from Yaroi village, Savusavu, Cakaudrove.
